While he was technically born in San Jose, you can consider John a native Oregonian. He moved here when he was less than a year old and even stayed for college, attending the University of Oregon. Now, he’s further cementing himself here by joining our FP Transitions team.
John graduated from U of O with a general social science degree with a focus on applied economics and business. But why stop his education there? He also studied for and passed his Series 7, Series 66, Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), and Life & Health Insurance exams.
Plus, he comes to us with experience as a Financial Advisor and Insurance Salesperson with Bankers Life. So, what led him to FP Transitions? “I joined FPT because I felt like this role provided me with the opportunity to best use my skills and to continue to grow within the industry,” John explains.
He’s now a part of our valuations department. In his role as coordinator, he helps to set our clients up for success, whether that’s scheduling meetings, collecting documents, or answering questions before they meet with an appraiser.
John says he particularly enjoys two parts of his role. “I like that I get to work with such a great team of people, where I feel supported,” he says, adding, “I like that I get to work hands-on with clients to help them navigate the valuations process.”
When he’s not supporting clients, you can often find John cooking for friends and family, playing sports (basketball and golf are his favorites), or hitting events like Blazers games and music festivals. He also knows how to relax. Football Sundays are his favorite way to enjoy the last of the weekend, and he hasn’t missed a season of Survivor to date.
